Attendance Policy
Absences: Direct written approval from parent or guardian must be furnished for any absences or time spent away from the premises during school days. Absences and tardinesses are considered excused for sickness, medical or dental appointments, or a death in the family. All other absences and tardinesses are considered unexcused. A student may also be marked “tardy” for failure to go to his/her classroom after a verbal warning at the end of recess or lunch break. A sick child must be kept out of school. If a student becomes ill during the day, the teacher will notify the parents to pick him/her up. Parents or person(s) previously authorized by the parents must pick up all ill students. No student is to return to school until COMPLETELY well. If the teacher is not satisfied that the child is well enough to function effectively, the parents will be contacted and required to take the child to a physician. The student will not be readmitted to the classroom without a note from the doctor. MORE... |
